Oxford Dictionary of National Biography - 50,000 biographies of Britons from the fourth century BC to 2000
Oxford Language Dictionaries Online - English, French, German, Spanish and Italian
Oxford Reference Online - multidisciplinary collection of reference works
Use dictionaries to find the meanings of terms.
Use encyclopaedias to provide you with background information on a particular topic.
To find relevant titles, search on mySearch using terms such as culture, literature, media and social sciences in combination with dictionary or encyclopaedia.
These are either available online or kept as reference titles with the rest of the Library collection.
