The English LAB offers English language support for students whose first language is not English, in a number of ways:

  • There is a workshop programme which runs on Wednesday afternoons for 10 weeks in the first semester and is repeated in the second semester.
  • We can offer you a Grammar Diagnostic Test to assess your grammar and highlight any gaps in your knowledge. The feedback from the test then points you directly at resources to help you with those areas which you found most difficult.
  • You can make an appointment with Paul Barnes, the Language Adviser, to discuss and focus on your specific needs. you can do this by using the "Schedule Appointment" button on the right →
  • The tabs across the top also contain a range of external links and information to help you improve your English language skills and adapt more easily to UK Higher Education.
