Schools and Sixth Form Colleges - Library Guide: Welcome

Using this guide

We've created this guide for any students at local schools and sixth form colleges who may like to visit Bournemouth University (BU) Library.

Use the tabs at the top of each page to find out about the Library's resources, study spaces and other facilities.

The guide also has resources to help you develop your study skills - from essay writing and presentation skills to revision and exam techniques.

We hope you find if useful.

Welcome to Library and Learning Support

Reference membership

If you would like to use BU Library you can apply for Reference Membership, which means:

  • you will be able to use the library as a place to study
  • you can use books from our collection while you are in the library, although you will not be able to borrow them to take home with you.

Guest access to electronic resources

Where licences permit, access may be granted to some of our electronic resources (e-books, e-journals and research databases) from a dedicated computer within the library. If you would like to apply for guest access to our e-resources, please complete an application form available on the Guest and Visitor section of our library webpages.
