Library highlights - the 2024/25 year in focus: Academic Skills Hub

The Academic Skills Hub has continued to expand the range, quality and choice of skills development and support available to students.

New initiatives launched this year:

  • Weekly drop-in sessions that give students instant access to academic skills help from our team
  • Increased collaboration with colleagues in the student union, including our ‘Mastering Academic Skills’ workshop series - organised by SUBU, delivered by us
  • The spearheading of a cross-BU project that allows students to earn badges for engaging with self-access content. These can be added to LinkedIn, shared as a public link, and count towards GS+ Award
  • Collaboration with the BU sustainability team to create bespoke workshops and self-access resources for students who want to be involved in the push for a more sustainable future
