Schools and Sixth Form Colleges - Library Guide: Finding resources

What's where

Your Reference Membership will allow you to use both libraries at Bournemouth University:

  • Bournemouth House Library
at the Lansdowne Campus contains a range of resources with a particular focus on health, social sciences and postgraduate business.

  • The Sir Michael Cobham Library
on Talbot Campus has resources for all the other subjects studied at the university

A fuller list of subjects is available on our webpages.

Floor plans for each library will help you to see where library books are shelved and to find the type of study area that's right for you

FInding books

Use the Library Catalogue to find out if we have the books you need. The Catalogue is freely available via the library webpages hereor you can use the search box at the bottom of this page.

We also have several dedicated Library Catalogue PCs in the library, which you can use during your visit.

When you've found the book you need on the Library Catalogue, note down the shelf-number, including the 3 letters at the end,  e.g. 006.6 LAN  and also which floor the book is on. Signs on the ends of the shelving bays will help you locate the right area.
