Peer Support Leader Guide: PSL Expectations

This guide is designed for our Peer Support Leaders to contain all the information they require to carry out their role, including key contacts, the process for the observations and how to claim their pay.

Responsibilities

As a PSL, you are responsible for providing constructive feedback from the observation to the PAL Leader and to share this with the Central PAL Team.

Professionalism

As a Peer Support Leader, you are representing the PAL Scheme in a professional capacity and are expected to act professionally.

Communication

You need strong communication skills to liaise with the PAL Leaders and the Central PAL Team.

Punctuality

Just as PAL Leaders should be on time for their sessions, you should be too! Arriving late and disrupting the session will reflect badly.

Confidentiality

For data protection purposes, your feedback for a PAL session should be confidential and not shared with anyone but the Central PAL Team and the PAL Leader.

Written Feedback

Your written feedback for sessions should be formal and relevant to PAL. Be honest but constructive in your feedback, regardless of your relationship with the PAL Leader.
