In addition to Digimaps which we subscribe to, there are other map resources available. Some of these have restrictions on use and should be used to compliment rather than replace resources such as Digimap. 

This has free digital map data available from the Ordnance Survey which, providing acknowledgement is made, can can be combined with other open datasets.

This website provides authoritative geographic information about the natural environmentt.  The information covers rural, urban, coastal and marine environments across Great Britain.  It is presented in an interactive map which can be explored using various mapping tools that are included.

A tool for viewing both superficial and bedrock features - maintained by the British Geological Survey. 

A local resource with very detailed information, historic maps, as well as geological and environmental information. 

This represents the European National Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registry Authorities. The website has four pan-European datasets compiled from members’ authoritative national data, including EuroGlobalMap which can be downloaded free of charge.

Maps and satellite imagery from around the world

A collection of world maps where territories are re-sized on each map according to the subject of interest, e.g. population, income, age of death, etc.

Historical Maps

A free portal which provides access to over 400,000 historical maps in libraries around the world

High-resolution zoomable images of over 86,000 maps of Scotland and England and Wales covering 1560 to 1961. The easiest way of finding sheets is through a clickable graphic index using the 'Find by Place' viewer: This allows searching through a gazetteer of place names, street names, postcodes and Grid References, as well as by zooming in on an area of interest with smaller-scale locational mapping as a backdrop.
