Reading lists: a guide for academics: Integrating reading lists with Brightspace unit content

Reading lists in Talis Aspire are linked to the corresponding units on Brightspace. They can be accessed by students by clicking on the link in the bar at the top of the unit.

This isn't the only integration that's possible. You can also link to all or part of your reading list in the 'Content' part of your unit. You might want to do this, for example, if you want to flag parts of the reading list alongside your unit materials. The instructions below show you how to set this up.

Linking the reading list to unit content

1. Click on 'Content' in the bar at the top of the unit.
2. Click on the content module (section) you want the list embedded within.
3. Click 'Add Existing'.

4. Click 'Reading List (Talis Aspire)'.

5. Search for your list by unit name or code.
6. Choose to embed either a section (Select Section) or the whole list (Embed List).

If you embed the whole list, the process will now complete. If you want to embed a section, there's one more step to take.

7. Choose the section to embed.

The section is now embedded.

8. The entry in the content module can be renamed by going to 'Edit'.
