Introduction to the Library: Finding resources

mySearch

mySearch is an interface which allows you to search across a range of library resources simultaneously, including books, journal articles and databases.

What's where

The Sir Michael Cobham Library : our award winning building at Talbot Campus has resources for all the subjects studied on that campus. It also houses the University Library's Special Collections.

Weston Library: our new Library in Bournemouth Gateway Building at Lansdowne Campus is now open for BU staff and students. It has resources for Faculty of Health and Social Sciences programmes and a postgraduate business and management collection.

Finding print books on mySearch

Use mySearch to find out whether we have a particular book in stock, or to search for books on a given topic. The record will contain a shelf number to help you find the book in the library, and signs on the ends of the shelving bays will also help you locate the right area.

Finding e-books on mySearch

You can use mySearch to search for e-books as well as print books.

To read an e-book, click on the Access Online link displayed under the book title.

Some e-books only allow a single user at a time. If you can't get access to the e-book, try again later. If you are still having problems - let us know.
